Michele L. Scott

Michele L. Scott obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice at California State University Chico where she also minored in creative writing. While there, she made the Dean’s List each semester and won a public speaking competition which sparked her passion for oral advocacy.

Ms. Scott later obtained her Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University School of Law where she made the Dean’s List each year. While at Golden Gate, she participated in two real estate litigation clinics where she discovered her love for not only State and local housing law but practical problem solving. Her first supervised “case” involved a smoking dispute within a multi-unit residential building. She resolved that case by making a single phone call during which she explained the secondhand smoke was disrupting a neighboring mother and her newborn baby. That moment cemented Ms. Scott’s belief that to be an effective advocate requires not only a working knowledge of applicable law and traditional litigation skills but also a penchant for practical problem solving grounded in the ability to connect, persuade and collaborate.

Since being admitted to the California State Bar, Ms. Scott has dedicated her entire legal career to advocating for property owners, landlords, and property management companies. She manages a high-volume unlawful detainer practice for large institutional clients and individuals, handles both residential and commercial matters, and specializes in at-fault evictions.

Ms. Scott is currently working on obtaining a Masters Degree in Psychology from Pepperdine which will enable her to become a better advocate and offer mediation services at Singer & Scott, P.C., which she hopes to do later this year.
